E3 Aviation Association operates an SMS notification service for the E3 Sky Path flight school and aviation maintenance school management platform. This page describes the program, the types of messages users receive, how to opt in, and how to opt out.
Program Overview
E3 Sky Path is used by flight schools and aviation maintenance schools to manage student enrollment, instructor scheduling, aircraft assignments, training milestones, and regulatory compliance. SMS notifications keep enrolled users informed of time-sensitive operational events.
Who Receives Messages
Only the following user types may opt in to receive SMS messages from E3 Sky Path:
- Enrolled flight students
- Certified flight instructors (CFIs)
- Aviation maintenance instructors
- Flight school administrators and staff
- Aviation maintenance school administrators and staff
E3 Sky Path does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages. All messages are transactional and tied to active enrollment or employment with a participating school.
Types of Messages You May Receive
By opting in, you consent to receive any of the following message categories:
- Lesson confirmations — flight or ground lesson scheduling, changes, and reminders
- Schedule changes — instructor, aircraft, or facility availability updates
- Weather disruptions — weather-related cancellations or delays
- Aircraft maintenance and availability — grounding notifications and return-to-service updates
- FAA Medical and certificate expiration alerts — advance reminders before medical certificates, pilot certificates, flight reviews, or mechanic certificates expire
- Billing notifications — payment confirmations, invoice availability, and payment failures
- Training milestone updates — solo endorsements, checkride scheduling, stage check results, and certification progress
- Emergency operational communications — safety alerts, urgent schedule changes, and flight operations communications related to safety
Sample Messages
The following are representative examples of messages users may receive:
How to Opt In
SMS consent is obtained on the E3 Sky Path platform at first sign-in. The process is as follows:
- A school administrator enrolls the user (student, instructor, or staff member) and enters the user's name, email address, and mobile phone number into E3 Sky Path.
- The user receives an account activation email from support@e3association.com.
- During activation, the user is presented with a separate, non-pre-checked SMS consent checkbox containing the following consent language:
"I consent to receive recurring SMS messages from E3 Sky Path including lesson confirmations, schedule changes, weather disruptions, FAA medical and certificate expiration alerts, billing notifications, training milestone updates, and emergency operational communications. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. View Privacy Policy and Terms of Service."
The checkbox is unchecked by default. The user must affirmatively check the box and click Save to opt in. Mobile numbers are never used to send SMS without this explicit consent.

How to Opt Out
Users may opt out of SMS notifications at any time using either of the following methods:
- Reply STOP to any message received from E3 Sky Path.
- Log in and navigate to Account Settings > Communication Preferences, and toggle SMS notifications off.
After opting out, the user will receive a single confirmation message:
No further messages will be sent after this confirmation.
How to Get Help
Reply HELP to any message to receive contact information for support. The auto-reply message reads:
Message Frequency and Cost
Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on user activity, enrollment status, and the timing of school operations. A typical active flight student may receive between 3 and 15 messages per week.
Cost: Message and data rates may apply, depending on the user's wireless carrier and plan. E3 Aviation Association does not charge users to receive SMS messages.
Supported Carriers
SMS notifications are supported on all major U.S. wireless carriers, including but not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, U.S. Cellular, Boost Mobile, Cricket, Metro by T-Mobile, and Google Fi.
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy and Data Sharing
Mobile information is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of personal information collected by E3 Sky Path exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
